Exodus 15:11
Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods?  who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

When we are standing on the other side after the walls of water have come crashing down and the sea returns to form, may the wonder of that moment imprint upon our hearts so that we never forget our wonder-working God and all that He can do.  May we retain that sense of awe and love and thankfulness to God we felt the first day we understood that we were sinners but Jesus loved us anyway and, even more, died for us and wanted us to live and live with Him.  May we mark in our hearts that day that, without regard for our own lives, we trusted Him and went forth out of Egypt, away from the old and into something new.

So while our feet are yet upon that shore, wet and sandy from our journey across, may we compose our songs of love and adoration to our gracious Lord.  May we not let those memories sink too deeply into our minds so that we lose our sense of wonder when we’ve gone deeper into the wilderness and somehow we forget the miracle we saw at the sea.  And above all, may we know the greatness of God and how beyond compare He is from our own experience of Him in our lives.

There is truly no one like our God.  He is more powerful than the strongest forces on Earth, and yet He is full of love and compassion.  He is great in wisdom and patient with us.  He is full of holiness and still He chooses to interact with us.  He reigns over everything but yet He will stoop low to be near to us.  And the great works that He’s done are endless.  Beyond the miracles exposed in the Scriptures, He continues to work in our world and our lives today, and on top of all of that is the unfathomable grace that sent His Son to die for us.

We truly serve a great God.  He has been working wonders among His people for generations.  And may the holy fear produced by those great things burn brightly in our hearts and never diminish.  May we never cease to shout our praises to Him.  And may we conduct our lives with humility and respect for Him, never forgetting that there is none like Him, and we have the privilege to live for Him and honor Him with all that we say and do.
