153 Consider mine affliction, and deliver me: for I do not forget thy law.
154 Plead my cause, and deliver me: quicken me according to thy word.
155 Salvation is far from the wicked: for they seek not thy statutes.
156 Great are thy tender mercies, O LORD: quicken me according to thy judgments.
157 Many are my persecutors and mine enemies; yet do I not decline from thy testimonies.
158 I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; because they kept not thy word.
159 Consider how I love thy precepts: quicken me, O LORD, according to thy lovingkindness.
160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
God’s Word provides the refreshment and reviving that we need in this weary world. It is a well we can go to when we need that living water to reinvigorate us. It supplies comfort in the hardships that sometimes overtake us. It is a constant source of new life, a place to find new mercy, hope, and grace from God to our needy hearts. He uplifts us as we look to Him and trust in what He says. And these things are ours in endless supply.
God’s Word reveals that He does consider our condition and that He will deliver us, that He is our source of help, and He is wise and strong and concerned with what is happening to us. We can know that His mercy is new every morning, that His grace is sufficient, that His lovingkindness endures forever. We can know God is faithful and He will not let us down. We will not be disappointed if we stake everything on Him and what He says.
God is always true, and so His Word is always true. Nothing will ever change that. Every part of it endures. Not one judgment will fail. Not one promise is void. So it is our constant and continual source of life and revival. Not only does it show us the way to Jesus to have that new life in Him, but it shows us the way to be renewed day by day. May it be that the life we find within the pages of Scripture provides the encouragement and strength we need to keep going.
