John 9:24-25
Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.  He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.

Human logic gives the Pharisees faulty reasoning.  They were so sure of what they knew to be true about Jesus, but it was all based on what they thought.  The man who had  been blind was not willing to make that kind of judgment, but the work Jesus did in his life spoke for itself.  We can’t know everything about Jesus.  Even though He is knowable, there is much about Him that is beyond our understanding, things we wouldn’t be able to explain.  But we can know, so surely and certainly, our personal experience with Him when He changes our lives.

This man had been born blind.  All of his life he’d had to depend on someone else to lead him about.  He had to beg since he couldn’t work.  He lived a somewhat limited life.  He had those experiences in his past that none of these seeing people could appreciate.  But then Jesus comes along and does something so amazing for him, and they just didn’t get it.  But he did.  He knew the difference that Jesus had made.  He knew how real the change was.  He knew how different the rest of his life could be.

So it didn’t matter if he could explain all the details or give a theological explanation for what had happened.  He had his own testimony, and he gave God the glory for this amazing thing that had happened to him.  He didn’t understand how washing that clay from his eyes gave him sight, but he knew he could now see.  He knew something wonderful had happened, and that was enough for him to have a different view of Jesus.

So it is with us.  We can’t really explain it.  We can’t always find the words or the logical explanation of it all.  We can’t tell how it works.  But we just know Jesus came and made us different.  He changed everything.  He gave us eyes to see, and our lives will never be the same.  And that is enough to make us believe wholeheartedly no matter what anyone else thinks or says, because it is personal and real and undeniable, just like that man’s miracle.
