Numbers 28:3
And thou shalt say unto them, This is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer unto the LORD; two lambs of the first year without spot day by day, for a continual burnt-offering.

The people of Israel were to offer this sacrifice every day, one lamb in the morning and one in the evening.  They were to begin their day acknowledging God and end their day doing the same.  They were to keep a continual offering to the Lord.  In the same way, our walk with the Lord is a daily thing.  We must have daily fellowship with Him, from the beginning of the day to the end.  We must have a time of confession every day to make sure our hearts are pure before Him.  We must come before His presence and acknowledge Him as our God, recognizing our position before Him and our need of Him.  We must worship Him and honor Him with our obedience and give Him our praises.

The blood of these sacrifices was before the people as a continual reminder of their need for it.  Blood had to be shed for their atonement.  And may we be reminded every day of that precious blood that was shed for us by our Lord Jesus Christ.  May it be ever before our eyes as a reminder of what our sin cost and that we are redeemed by Him.  May we always be conscious of the blood of Christ and the power it contains and what He endured for our sakes.

Because remembering that helps us to serve Him better and make better choices throughout our day.  Knowing what it cost Jesus increases our desire to serve Him and honor Him with our lives.  It produces thankfulness in our hearts.  It compels us to tell others about the saving power in that blood.  It changes our hearts and our minds so that our focus is more on Him and less on us.  And remembering all these things daily helps us keep a proper perspective.

Let us go daily to the Lord in prayer and Bible study.  And may it never become simply a routine or a task to complete, but a significant time of fellowship with our Lord and Savior.  May we always remember why we are able to have a relationship with Him in the first place and be thankful for what He is doing in our lives.  May we continually offer Him praise throughout our day.  And then we will be continually drawn closer and closer to Him.
