Come, Lord Jesus

Revelation 22:20
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

As You have promised, Lord, even so, come. Come to this world still plagued by the curse, where sin still reigns, where hurt and tears abound, where evil threatens, where darkness covers. Even so, come and take us home, take us away, take us to a place where there is no more curse and the devil has no place and sin will be no more, a place free of tears and hurt, a place where Your light covers all. Come, Lord Jesus, and make right what has been so wrong. Make whole what has been so broken. Make new what has been so damaged. Make complete and perfect what has been unfinished.

Even so, Lord, for the burdens of this world can be heavy, and the effects of sin have left their scars, and the domination of unrighteousness has corrupted and contaminated. Come to this place where innocence is lost, where peace is lacking, where hope seems far off. Come, Lord Jesus, and reign in Your holy righteousness and glory. Reign in Your absolute power. Usher in those final days. Let it come to pass as You have said it would. Let it be a curseless world, a sinless world. Set us free to worship and to serve as we were created to do. Let us look upon You face-to-face, clothed in Your righteousness and covered by Your blood.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus, for the way here is rough, and the saints grow weary, and the earth groans to be delivered. Even so, come, Prince of Peace, for evil rages and conflict and struggle and strife seem to dominate. Come, King of kings and Lord of lords, the only one worthy, and bring Your judgment and Your justice to this world. Come, Lord Jesus, Alpha and Omega, and finish Your story. Make all things new. Establish Your kingdom and cast out forever what has no place there. Come, Lord Jesus, my Savior, my friend, my Redeemer, my hope, my joy, and let me be with You where You are.
