Revelation 5:13-14
And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.  And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

Jesus has a prominent place.  He is the center of attention and the focus of the worship of every creature.  There is a lot of worship in heaven, but we don’t have to wait until we get there to worship Him.  We should focus on Him now, give Him a prominent place and all glory and honor and power and blessing, because He is worthy.  He is the object of our adoration and praise.  Our response in many situations in our lives should be to fall down and worship God.

Jesus has an eternal place.  He lives forever and ever.  And so forever He will be worthy and forever He will be praised and forever He will be with those who desire to worship Him.  He always was, and He always will be.  And nothing can ever change that.  And He is our source of eternal life.  Through Christ and our relationship with Him, we will also have an eternal place with Him in that glorious place.

Jesus has a distinct position.  Jesus is the King and the Lamb.  He is the exalted one who takes the highest place and sits on the throne to reign forever and ever.  And He is the Lamb slain, the one who humbled Himself to that low place to die for all, to redeem us by His blood.  He is still the King in authority and power, but He will also always be the one who died for us.  He will always be our Master and our Savior.  And both of those make Him worthy of our eternal worship.

It’s hard to imagine the true glory of Christ, the true glory of heaven, and the reality of eternity.  But here we get a glimpse to whet our appetites for what is to come for those of us who know Jesus as our Savior.  And can’t knowing what awaits us in the future change how we live right now?  We don’t have to wait for heaven to give Jesus that highest, most central, most worthy place in our lives.  We don’t have to wait to praise Him and honor Him.  We don’t have to wait to bow before Him in humble service out of thanksgiving for those great things He has done for us.
