John 2:11
This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

It was only the beginning. Surely they couldn’t imagine the kinds of things they would experience in the years ahead as Jesus’ disciples. Surely they wondered at the things they saw. They believed on Him, but doubts would come. They heard His word, but they didn’t always understand. They followed faithfully, but they didn’t get everything right. It was a process of growing and learning as they followed Jesus.

And so it is for us. Our journey with Jesus takes patience and growth. Our walk with Him will have these small miracles and maybe even bigger displays of His power in our lives. But each one is a stepping-stone on the path He has for us. Each moment helps us to know Him more and to strengthen our faith. Each time we see Him work or hear Him speak is a chance to be shaped and molded by our Lord and Master.

Let us go along with Jesus for this amazing journey. We can’t possibly foresee what we will experience or how we will see Him work. But we can take these kinds of moments to heart. We can learn to trust Him. We can walk beside Him and be conformed to His image. We can surrender to Him and trust His leading as we obey and serve. This experience we have in our lives here is only the beginning of an eternity of knowing, loving, and living for Jesus.
