Guest Post: Amazing Grace

2 Corinthians 8:9
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

This powerful verse proclaims Jesus’ abounding grace. He was rich, sitting on His throne in heaven, but he chose to descend to this earth to die for us. And remember, compared to Jesus, we are nothing. How could a perfect Savior come down to rescue us, sinners, from our deadly fate? “For ye know that the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,”. That’s how. So that we could rise to be with Him in heaven one day. Because Jesus suffered, we have the chance to receive this wonderful gift of grace.

[Here is another devotional written by my niece. I hope we never get tired of thinking about the amazing grace of our Lord Jesus Christ—how much we don’t deserve it and how willing He is to give it. And may we be encouraged to demonstrate this kind of grace to those around us, following the great example of our selfless Savior.]
