What Will Happen

Mark 14:12-16
And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover? And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him. And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us. And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.

Jesus knows the future as if it has already happened. He sees and knows all things. Even in something seemingly small, such as where to prepare the Passover, Jesus knows beforehand all that will occur. He has every detail figured out ahead of time and knows the end results of all things that will come to pass. Our part is to do as the disciples did and simply obey Jesus. When the disciples went, they found everything exactly as He had said, and surely their trust in Him could grow from that.

Maybe we’ve come to Jesus with our questions: “Lord, what do I do about this situation? Where do I go? How do I handle it?” And Jesus knows about it already. He knows the outcome and every step we will take and all the details of His plan. And He will guide our path as only He can to help us navigate through it and end up where He wants us to be. And may knowing that He already knows what is ahead cause us to trust Him more.

There are many confusing and confounding things we face in life, our unique struggles and challenges. And Jesus has all the answers we need. He looks to our future and knows all that will come to pass. He sees the end before we ever embark on the beginning of the journey. So let us trust His leading. Let us look to Him for help. And let us obey Him as He shows us step by step the things that He wants us to do.
