Complete

Colossians 2:9-10
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

It’s not like our lives are a puzzle that is almost complete and Jesus is the last piece we need to make us whole. Our lives are one small puzzle piece without Him. There is nothing whole or complete about us apart from Him. Jesus takes the little piece that we are and starts building off of that to make us more and more like Him, to build us up into who He wants each of us to be, for we are certainly very lost and very empty without Him.

Only in Jesus does any fullness dwell, and only through Him do we have any strength, any hope, any ability. Only through Him can we have righteousness. Only through Him can we know love. The only real peace we can have is in Him. The only source of light and life is in the Lord Jesus Christ. He contains everything within Himself and sheds that abroad into our lives when we are dwelling near to Him. When we feel so broken and shattered, let’s allow Him to make us whole.

When we seek things outside of God’s will or disobey Him or reject His truths, we separate ourselves from Him. Like a puzzle piece, we must be connected on all sides to truly dwell within the whole picture that He has planned out for us. We must be at the center of His will, and He must be the center of our lives. We can’t take pieces from a different puzzle and add them to ours to make it work. And we can’t be complete without every piece coming together the way it is meant to fit together. When we try to rearrange things the way we think they should be instead of lining them up God’s way, we run into trouble that can sometimes have long-lasting effects.

Let’s trust God to put our lives together how He wants them to be. When we build one piece at a time, submitting to the one who can see the final picture, everything comes together as it should, and we become whole and complete in Christ. Let’s cast off all the pieces that don’t fit with God’s plans for us. Let’s submit to His will and allow ourselves to be conformed to the image of Christ.
